As part of our ‘ Diversity Art Classes’ series for the community. Kindred Studios, which is based near Shepherds Bush Market, kindly donated their space for us to bring our classes to you! Our first, was a ‘ Celebration of Black Art’ tutored by Susan Alexander, a talented former Shepherds Bush Artist. The theme was to let our imagination wander and think about iconic figures, conceptual ideas around the Caribbean, and let our ideas flow.
We were inundated with people, wanting to come along, including small groups of friends, and even couples. We used canvas, paints and our imagination, to create awesome colourful works of art, which could grace any wall. The sounds of reggae music and the food, snacks, captured certain elements of the Caribbean. It was fun and everyone seemed to really get stuck into creating their own pieces of art. The outcomes of all those individual participants was just amazing.
